There are many people out there with unfair PPI premiums on their loans or credit cards that they continue pay. Now is the time to familiarize yourself with the facts so you can make changes. You never want to feel forced into buying such insurance as you really don’t need it. The cover is also quite poor even though there are many varieties of it out there. You will need more than a medical reason to get your claims approved as they don’t want to pay out.
The fact that many people buy PPI cover when they are given false pretenses from the lender is under fire. People want a way to be able to pay their debts if they aren’t able to work. However, what this type of cover can provide is often grossly misrepresented. As a result people are paying money for mis sold PPI and cover that really has very little value to them.
Many people never realize that fact though because they don’t end up in a situation where they need to file a PPI claim. If they stopped to see how much they have paid for premiums and interest though it is going to upset them. Such cover may be legal to sell but it certainly isn’t being well represented. The incentive for the lender is that they are making nice profits through commission programs with those insurance providers.
It isn’t too late though to change what has been going on with unfair PPI. There are many programs out there with a goal of getting the right information into the hands of consumers. They offer pamphlets and websites that give accurate information in simple terms. They also have a way to contact them to get particular questions answered that may not be found on the site. Learning what has taken place and understanding you aren’t to blame for it is important.
Anyone that feels that they have been involved with unfair PPI practices needs to make that known. Filing a complaint with the lender or the credit card company shows them that you find it unacceptable. It also tells them that you want to seek the rights you were previously denied. By doing so, you may also be eligible to receive a refund of the money you have paid for PPI cover.
While that refund doesn’t change what took place, it is certainly a step in the right direction. It sends a strong message to insurance companies and to the lenders working on their behalf that they can’t take money from people in such a manner for their own gain. Even if they aren’t facing legal ramifications at this time due to their actions, the financial loss they will see is going to be something that hurts their bottom line.
